three more sleeps
i should probably pack at some point. instead, i've been finishing up several writing assignments (one more to go!), running errands, catching up on taped television so i can leave with a clean viewing slate, and calling the credit-card companies to say, "hi. i'll be in florida for two weeks. please don't freeze my card when you suddenly see a purchase from the sarasota target or the tampa cheesecake factory. thanks." (apparently, it's wise to do this every time you travel outside your home town. who knew?)
things i'm looking forward to in the sunshine state: meeting up with moob and, possibly, mr. moob (omg! it's been YEARS!); starting every day in the pool; U.S. cable television; sales! (only in america are items marked 60% off, with an extra 20% off at checkout); supertarget; fort desoto park and caladesi island state park; and, of course, the pure gastronomical delights of my favourite chain restaurants and random junk-food items.
sad but true factoid: the TV and the snacks are probably the most exciting items on that list for me after the moobs.

shelling at caladesi island sounds SO restful, vacation-y, fun. just the word "shelling" makes me think that Florida is not really in the U.S.--as some of us suspected all along. are you going to eat clams?
It's so touching to have priority over junk food!! :-)
Love,
Moob
that's a big no to the clams, lou. i'm afraid i'm not much of a seafood gal. young beatrix does enjoy seafood but she, too, stays away from shellfish.
instead, how about i eat a krispy kreme donut? or a bowl of fritos twists? or several scoops of edy's premium?
mmmmmmmmmmmmm.
