blogged

okay, here it is, my one-hundredth post
that likely won’t be the one talked about most
i’ve been thinking and racking and waiting and stewing
and dreaming up content – it’s all i’ve been doing!

but time’s ticking by as you’ve all made quite clear
so i figured i owed you for your visits here
even though, to be frank, i’ve got nothing to say
so i’ll just ramble on about life here today:

today i had lunch with my friends chris and laurie
we ate at terroni, not much of a story
i laundered my linens and sorted my mail
(if you’re bored you’re forgiven if you want to bail)

i made a few calls to some folks who weren’t there
i facebooked and emailed – oh wait, do you care?
i dropped off a cheque and i thought about dinner
(i warned you that this post would not be a winner)

i researched some subjects and surfed on the ‘net
i facebooked again (and am not quite done yet)
i’m prepping a smoothie and waiting for Friends
Big Brother’s at nine; the Ink boys at ten

after that? one more facebook before i hit bed
and thus ends the day and the thoughts in my head
so, you see, i’ve had nothing about to which to write
just everyday musings that oft seem quite trite

about eating and sleeping, and neighbours who yell
or movies or TV or pub food from hell
about walks that are long, or walls that are fuscia
i give you: my life and all its minutiae.

Ahhh. I emit a long sigh of satisfaction at the sound, cadence, and humor of an original vickie poem. Such a fitting #100. :)

i looked up a bunch of my old stuff last night and recalled the fond memories of our poetry nights. (weren't they also on tuesdays???)

niiiiiiiiiiiiice.

and i also am awaiting friends on w, bb and miami ink.

i love our "tuesday night girlfriend" calls. ;-)

(still no script for that one, btw.)

Okay it's no "Ode to Moob's Finger" but......nice!

:¬)

oh, i still have that one, too! (and the one to your elbow, and the one to your fingertip, and the one where lou mocked my haiku, and so on and so on and so on...)

i may repost them as a blog post all their own if i'm strapped for content again. ;-)

i have been more than happy to surrender my body parts for the further development of your art!

and, for that, the literary world is eternally grateful.

I MOCKED YOUR HAIKU???

vickie said...

yep. you called it "pedestrian" (in a loving way, of course). so i immediately whipped off a short poem entitled "pedestrian poetry" in my defense.

shall i repost it? :-D

YES!

from the annals of the womenspace poetry chats...

pedestrian poetry
.
i shared my haiku, as requested by lou
but she didn't quite like what she read
"redo your haiku, for it just wasn't you"
i swear to you that's what she said.
.
so i picked up my pen, and sat myself down
to write something brilliant and clever
but the words did not come, for i am a clown
and won't write serious poems, now or ever.

I have no memory of that whatsoever, and if I did criticize your haiku, perhaps my comments were based on a deviation from the 5-7-5 syllable count? The omission of an image from nature? WHAT COULD I HAVE BEEN THINKING?? :/

vickie said...

LOL. i think you were just kidding around. remember, we used to post our poems and then wait for comments, and silly haikus were running rampant...so i'm sure your "pedestrian" comment was meant in the driest of wit.

That's what it was--dry wit! ;-)

of course, i wept for an hour afterwards but, you know, whatever.
