paint and prep
suffice it to say: i've spent the day getting ready to go back to work tomorrow, and for my first day as an ME. i've been watching waves of emails (on which i'm now CCed) come in all day, and it's starting to feel like a HUGE amount of work for which i am, at present, ill-prepared. i have a meeting with the production manager tomorrow morning, during which he'll fill me in on how things work.
i made a big, vegetable-y, spicy quinoa salad to take for lunch the next three days. and, early tomorrow morning, i'll go for a big, de-stressing power walk before heading to my new gig.

Anyway, I know you'll do great. Nobody expects you to have all the answers on the first day. If you understand the questions, you're doing just fine!

Oh you're ready all right. You're a field that's been plowed to a fine soil, amended with all the right stuff, rained on, woken by sunlight, hemmed by bunnies and squirrels. I've gone too far. I mean to say, make a great magazine!

i should have mentioned that one of the two magazines isn't actually a magazine anymore -- last week, my boss told me the client isn't continuing with the print or virtual versions of the mag, and shifting ALL content to the website.
that's where the learning curve will be, since producing and posting 50 stories per month for a website is very different than producing a quarterly print magazine.
Shoot, you do 30 stories a month on your blog. Piece of cake. :-)
